About project
In order to function properly, lynx, bear and wolf need to disperse regardless of countries' administrative borders. The Western Carpathians, which stretch along the borders of Poland, Slovakia and Czech Republic, are important sanctuaries and migration destinations for these large predators. However, current changes in landscape, such as urbanization and development ofnew transport infrastructure, negatively affect wolf, lynx and bear's migration. Proper protection of those species requires consistent and cross-border approach.
The aim of the project “Large Carnivores without borders – partnership for protection in the Western Carpathians” is a trilateral cooperation for the insurance of a proper protection of wolf, lynx and bear in the area of the three Visegrád countries in the Western Carpathians.
